DAG sometimes recruits Explosive Detection Dog (EDD) Handlers to provide services globally as part of our services, and our recruitment team would be happy to receive and review your application.
Please see below for more information about the main duties and responsibilities of a qualified and experienced EDD Team:
The EDD Handler and assigned K9 (the EDD Team) will perform access control functions, sweeps and explosives detection at designated sites for the purpose of providing a deterrent effect.
Access Control/Searches – EDD teams may be required to conduct systematic searches of a variety of items entering client premises, including but not limited to: pedestrians, vehicles, containers, cargo, luggage, and personal carried items. The handler will inform client security immediately of any positive detection of explosives, per approved SOP’s. Handlers will be responsible for keeping records of the number of vehicles, bags, cargo etc searched during their shift, in line with relevant SOP’s.
Daily Patrols – In coordination with client security, EDD teams will conduct random daily patrols of areas such as building exteriors and interiors, and/or compounds. EDD Teams will conduct other patrols and searches as directed by client.
Exercise/Drills – EDD Teams will participate as required in the planning and execution of incident response exercises and drills.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
1 year experience in an EDD Handler role
